Description
9″x9″ gum bichromate tri-color print on Arches Platine.
Gum bichromate is a highly archival printing process from the late 1800s that uses watercolor hardened with potassium bichromate (dichromate) to create the tri-color process. Because of this, an artist can use any color available. Gum bichromate is one of those printing processes where the ‘hand’ of the artist is on full display. Each print is highly unique, and color perfection is not the goal.
